Mofokeng was a part of a group exhibition on the night of the pageant in Pretoria, at the State Theatre. Mofokeng on her work: The work I make is a reflective journey, the commentary suggested by the work is a subjective perspective, of my lived experiences as a black woman, as a mother, and as a daughter. The themes my work orbits around are secrecy, memory, family and anxiety. I explore possibilities of marrying visual narrative with soundscaping, in my work I look to expand my use of varied mediums in engaging a concept on multiple levels.
