Ntenteni is a freelance photographer from a small village called Mbaxa Location in King William’s Town. She started her photography journey during the Covid19 period, where she was mentored by one of the photographers in her community. In the beginning of this year Ntenteni took part with other young females in a photography workshop in Tsitsikamma.
The project I’m working on examines the effects of substance misuse on the lives of young people in my neighborhood. I have documented Yonela’s life, a well-known football player in my village—who is now a “Phara” he has a drug-related life transformation. I have depicted both his living situation and his daily activities in my images.
