Lungile Ngcobo
BIOGRAPHY
Lungile Ngcobo is a Female, visual artist and a photographer from Johannesburg. She is currently completing the Advanced Programme in Photography at the Market Photo Workshop (MPW) Johannesburg. Lungile is a founder of “foto_fuze” a photography medium. She is also a participant in a group of photographers named “APP.CR2” from the Market Photo Workshop.
She works within the commercial field of photography as well as in the documentary field. Her work makes use of both analogue and digital format.
In 2019 Lungile featured in a female focused group exhibition at Eyethu Lifestyle Centre “kwa-Tshabalala” (art centre) in Soweto exploring themes of ‘home’. In 2020 she was shortlisted as part of the top ten candidates for the Orms Mentorship Circle program by ORMS in Cape Town.
Lungile has been exploring the theme of “home” as an avid storyteller. She aims to explore ways of finding herself and her roots through documentary fashion and uncovering her feelings by manipulating and collaging images in her photography.
