I'm Jabulile Mohlakoane

Jabulile Mhlakoane was born and bred in Standerton Mpumalanga. She started her lower grades at Thandeka primary school and later matriculated from Jandrell Secondary School in 2020. Mhlakoane’s project is about the community of extensuin 22 in Embalenhle.

The eMbalenhle community is facing several challenges and one of them being environmental issues. Here under is an environmental awareness of environmental problems faced by the community of ext22. This community is facing  ground shakes their houses cracks to the point that  they feel not safe to continue living in the area.

“The community activist in eMbalenhle claimed that they had conducted an investigation and found that the land belonged to Sasol and the municipality was told not to build houses on the land unless the structure complied with a certain regulation or building code.  The cracks in some houses are noticeably larger, some stands are also flooding. Meanwhile, the residents are expected to stay in their houses. The roads are in an appalling state, with sewage and rainwater flooding the streets, the residents said that it is what they go through and deal with all the time it rains”.
