Malachia Kwena Mahopo is a 60 years old retired police officer who is now a full time multi-disciplinary artist and an owner of Timara Art gallery which is a newly established art gallery in Seshego township. He is a painter, crafter, actor, musician, an author, sculpture, poet and a free thinker.
My personal project is focusing on personal issues that trigger the GBV in most relationships. It starts with religious and cultural practices, like bible, Quaran and other religious denominations. I have looked into some verses in the bible that seems to be problematic because people take that as guidelines to their lives.
Here I use photography to emphasise how religion has played a role in Sexuality and Gender Based Violence.
