BIOGRAPHY
She studied at the Market Photo Workshop in Newtown, completing the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Programme.
Lesego Moeketsi was born on 16 June 1999 in Kagiso West of Johannesburg, South Africa and is currently based there.
Moeketsi’s interest in photography sparked during a visit to a friend and then was introduced to a fashion photographer Katlego Mathipa’s body of work on African Women. She started photography at the age of 18, where she used to visualize stories using her old Samsung S4 phone. In 2018, she started her first year at City Varsity School of Film and Drama. Moeketsi enrolled and completed the Photojournalism and Documentary Photography Program at The Market Photo Workshop in 2020.
Moeketsi's passion is human interest stories. She aims to use the medium of photography to tell the stories of ordinary people in their own language.
