Growing up

Brown eyed girl born and bred in a township called Alexandra. A very poor township known for its popularity and crime.
It was very hard growing up.

Going to school in early mornings of winter with no electricity was very hard.

Coming from school hungry when all I could get was black tea and isikhokho, at least it was something. I never used to complain.

I would go and play soccer and sometimes I would go to centers like san-kopano to practice music or street theater. Growing up was not easy. Having my mom walking to work just to save money to buy me a doll bring tears to face as I am older and now, Iknow about sacrifices.

I’m very proud of the new developments in my community, the new RDP houses made a difference. The Gautrain and the soccer playground to keep kids of the road.
