This series shows my personal view of my experience in Johannesburg CBD. Coming from Durban, my perception of Johannesburg was very negative. Now, living in Johannesburg CBD has allowed me to explore the city centre and identify the source of what, I believe, gives ‘the city of Gold’ that edge; The People. From traffic cops to recyclers and street vendors, all these people give Johannesburg a vibrancy, colour and constant buzzing atmosphere. The days where I photographed were in sporadic times of the weekday when there is a lot of activity. I decided to manipulate my images in post-production to emphasize movement and vibrancy.  I also photographed on Sundays when the city is much quieter to show viewers the old architecture, a character of hope and serenity within the same city
